Another World. From Fullness of Spiritual To Fullness of Material- Budapest

Hi this is my third morning in Budapest. After a grueling 24 hour trip via Bahrain and Istanbul, I arrived in Budapest around 7:30 PM on Sun. Jan. 5. I thanked God that my luggage made it through the three flight changes and headed to my Airbnb where my son and his fiancee Monica were already waiting.

The drive from the Budapest airport was not at all impressive and I felt I was already back in the USA with strip malls, Burger Kings and other familiar franchises in modern style along the highway.

The ambiance dramatically changed however as we got closer to the old city and the Danube. I don't have time right now to give all the details of the last few days but here are some photos.

Budapest!

One of the first building that greeted me in Budapest...

Underground walkways provide venues for performers and small cafes and shops

Ornate and beautiful buildings along the Danube house hot thermal springs that originate not too far below the surface of the ground everywhere around here. You could swear you were back in Roman times with people gathered in groups in outside and inside pools savoring and sampling the healing mineral waters that everyone here frequents to maintain health. There are fountains to drink the water as well.

The pools are at all temperatures hot, cold and medium. Swirling, still, steaming and sauna style... We had a great and relaxing evening. Nothing was in English so we had to navigate through the big spa complex hoping for the best. Hungarian language has very different originating roots so not one word was familiar!

Lucaks Thermal Bath . One of the highlights of our Budapest days. Here is a fountain of healing mineral water to drink from.

Outside mineral water lap pools.  Great fun to be outside in 30 degree weather and swimming! We went outside but preferred the really hot water inside.

I did not realize how starved my heart was for beauty and art and architecture and music. It is a feast here for the senses! More soon!

  1. As claimed by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the one and ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 42 lbs lighter than us.

(By the way, it has NOTHING to do with genetics or some hard exercise and EVERYTHING related to "HOW" they are eating.)

BTW, I said "HOW", not "WHAT"...
