December on the Beach- Arabian Sea Dream Week

I love the mountains but the beach is sublime. I am now near Alappuza, Kerala enjoying a week of beach time, yoga and meditation (mostly beach time) LOL. I have a small cottage right on the sea-just a bed and a bath and a shared kitchen but so far it has been heavenly. I spent the afternoon swimming (more like being pummeled by waves by still great fun)

Then I ate a quick dinner tonight and walked to the beach (literally 200 feet outside my door) to watch the sun set. This beach is mostly unknown so it is peaceful. And you can walk for miles in either direction- which is the biggest plus for me.

You can see the fisherman at work up and down the beach. Small skiffs like the one in the foreground are used by the very small time fisherman and the bigger boats are brightly painted and usually manned by two or more fishermen.

Quite a few friendly dogs along the beach eager to share some walk time with whoever comes along.

I really feel like I am in heaven.
