Boys, Boys, Boys and Maharishi Sanskrit Afternoon- Goodbye Nepal

On my last day in Nepal- still in the city of Dhulikhel-I set off to see what I could see. There was a temple called Naimisharanya on the GPS and it was about an hour walk so I set off. I ended up in a very rural part of the city and I could see that the village people were wondering if I was lost or something. The path became more and more peaceful as I got up higher.

Then I came upon the sign indicating that Naimisharanya was actually a Sanskrit school-in the ancient style where boys go away to study in residence. Well Sanskrit language is my great love in life! I was delighted!

At first I did not see anyone around but then out of the blue about 20 boys from about 6 years old to around 17 appeared. Rather I should say they ran out to meet me with open arms.
They grabbed my hands and brought me to the yagya shala (center point) of the school. I shouted "I LOVE SANSKRIT". They were jumping up and down and they started chanting various Sanskrit mantras and verses and I chimed in and matched their chanting. I know literally hundreds of Sanskrit chants so we went on for some time. It was as if I was a part of the gang and I was in like flint as they say.

Coincidentally, I found out that the school was one of the Maharishi Sanskrit and aYagya schools founded by the organization that I taught meditation with for many decades. So we shared an additional bond.

The boys showed me the photos of Brahmananda Saraswati and the Transcendental Meditation Holy Tradition-  a background that we all shared.

The school had Radha-Krishna as their temple focus.

The boys sang bhajans or sacred songs for me and they convinced me to dance with them. Sorry I am not posting that LOL.

And then they all gathered around to see the photos of my travels on my phone. There were about 12-15 boys all around me. It was very sweet. The younger ones wanted to hold my hand or hug me. I felt very loved and welcome. Clearly the younger boys missed their moms. In the photo I am wearing a mala of rudraksha beads they gave me.

After a couple hours with the boys, I set off back down to the city. Marveling as I walked at the serendipity of the meeting. And thanking God for all of the beautiful and unique experiences I have had each and every day of my pilgrimage..

I am now in Dharamshala, India. I arrived very early this morning and the new adventures have begun. Stay tuned!
