Green Tara is Finished Today and some photos!
My life has been pretty centered on my Thankga Tibetan Art Classes. I finished my first canvas today with the help of my master teachers. Here is Green Tara. Otherwise, my life has been pretty quiet. I may have some more adventures coming up now that my painting is finished.
Here I am intensely focussed on painting my Green Tara.
Finished today!
It is currently the big festival of Nine Days of Mother Divine and my landlady Tika is dressed up her sari
for one of the celebrations.
Improvised Baby Carrier. Most women carry their babies this way. Usually they support the baby from behind with one hand.
One of the familiar faces that sell fruits all around the city from a basket on her back. Her name is Lakshmi. She works hard to make a living walking many miles a day to earn a few dollars.
I finally went on the local ferris wheel. What an experience! I walked up the rickety steps to get on. The two attendants were on their mobile phone hardly paying attention. Once I got on they turned up the gently rotating wheel to full tilt and left it on full speed for 10 minutes. I was the only one riding .Then they stopped me at the top and left me there for about 5 minutes! I got my money's worth. Here are some views.
