Watching a Nepalese Music Video Shoot
After an early morning hike that yielded this great view of the Machapuchare peak topping the hillside, I had lunch at home and then set off to wander the area.
I ended back at my favorite park near the lake. There was a lot of commotion going on and I thought maybe there was a wedding or something. As I got closer I saw and heard that there was a music video shoot going on. Most of the TV available here in Nepal are music video channels.
The music videos are low budget and are often funny (on purpose). They are very G-rated and often include the older generation and well as beautiful young women in saris and handsome young men in western clothes with an obligatory pair of sunglasses on.
I enjoy Nepali music and I stood and watched for almost two hours as they filmed the various components of the music video. The producers could see me tapping my toes and clapping along and came over to introduce themselves.

Father and sons music video producers
The man in the flowered shirt below is a dancer/producer and here he is doing some coaching some of the dancers before the shoot.
Here is a short video of the actors and singers from yesterday. It will give you a flavor of a Nepali song. You may have to click here to see the video https://youtu.be/1cQkU7WlFFI
