Ancient Tradition of Vedic Chanting Kept Alive Here!

The facility that I am at here in Kausani is a fairly large operation with several buildings. There is guest housing,  ayurvedic clinic rooms, cow sheds, organic farming. There is also a group of men and boy vedic pundits living, studying and performing yagya in residence.

Young pundit boys in training reciting from the Veda:

The Veda is ancient, holistic and powerful knowledge of the most fundamental level of human life - consciousness. Vedic Knowledge was initially an oral tradition. Fluctuations of consciousness in the form of primordial sound/mantras were cognized by ancient rishis or seers absorbed in deep meditation in pure mountain and jungle areas of the East. These sounds or mantras were collated and written down eventually and have been maintained in the east as a precious tradition and used to support the evolution of human life.

Here is the Vedic Library here at the ashram. Veda cannot be contained in a book since it is knowledge of consciousness and consciousness is beyond material life. Nevertheless key mantras that enliven consciousness have been recorded:

Today vedic knowledge is kept alive by pundits. A pundit is born into the Brahman caste in India. He is trained from birth through an oral tradition of teaching to recite/chant  ancient hymns of the Veda. These mantras/hymns when coupled with specific performances such as offering of ghee, fruit, flowers and fire ceremony called havan constitute a yagya.

Thus this ancient wisdom of the inherent laws of nature that guide life become practical when pundits perform yagya. Yagyas can be performed to balance the planetary influences in a person's chart, to enhance business success, harmony in relationships, improve health and well-being etc. It is an ancient science that can be used in our modern life.

Here is a short video clip of the young pundit boys chanting.
